No Internet Access

I have been without internet access for a while and will probably be out of full access for a few more days before I'm able to post anything. Sorry. I hope to post something by the weekend.

Truth Quote of the Week

I am immersed in studies this week so I thought I'd post my favorite Czech quote. This is a quote from Matěj z Janova (Matthew of Janova) criticizing the priesthood of his day (the late 14th century):

they worldly, proud, mercenary, pleasure-loving, and hypocritical; they are the synagogue of sinners, the great Whore, serpents and young adders, a snare, the apocalyptic locusts, adulterous women, worse than public prostitutes. They form spiritually the Great Babylon which is the Great Whore and the mother of adultery and abomination of the earth. They do not regard their sins as such, do not allow themselves to be reproved, and persecute the saintly preachers. There is no doubt that if Jesus lived among such people, they would be the first to put him to death.”
- As quoted by Matthew Spinka from Kybal's book Matej z Janova.

Need a Pastor?

A friend just sent me this E-Bay link where a pastor has put himself and his family up for sale. I am not sure if I should laugh or cry. I guess both! Here is the "pastor's" ad:

"You are looking at/bidding on a very contemporary out of the box Pastor. As you can tell by the pictures He preaches and teaches in a very unorthodox manner. He does it without compromising the true written word of God. He and his family has chosen to go this route of putting themselves on the market in hopes to find a church that is untraditional and is ready to reach their community. He and his family will consider relocating in the contentinental United States. For any questions or more information feel free to email Pastor Chad at... or visit his my space at..."

Uhhhhh...I don't know what to say. I guess we shouldn't be surprised at this day in time.

D.Min Day 1

Today was day one for my D.Min. program. It was cool to be able to study the Word and how to communicate the Word with others who have a passion to see it proclaimed. I was surprised to hear that the accrediting agency had to tell the seminary to back down on the workload they had for the D.Min. program because it was a Ph.D level load. Getting a degree at Master's is no light task, but it is worth it.

My postings have slowed because of all of my travel, jet lag, and seminary load. But I do hope to post some pics and comments on our incredible trip to Israel soon!

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

We just returned from Israel and now I begin D.Min. studies at The Master's Seminary. Wow do we have a packed summer. I'll try to post some Israel trip pics and thoughts in the coming days.

Home Sweet Home

It is always good to come home after a long journey. We just returned from the land of Israel after 11-12 incredible days. As you can imagine we are tired, but I thought I'd post a couple words. I look forward to sharing some from our travels of the land of the Bible!

It was a great privilege to be there with about 300 others, mostly missionaries and their families. We traveled and enjoyed much fellowship together for 10 packed days! One of the most amazing things we saw was at the temple mount, but I'll have to share that in the next post as the hour is late.
