Why Barack Hussein Obama Should Never Be President

I think this video says it all as to why he should NEVER be the President of the United States of America. He wants to create an impotent America that is unable to protect itself and that is founded upon liberal ideology.

Roman Break

This week I teach the book of Romans! So I will be taking a break for a few days. When my life returns to normal at the end of the week I would like to make a post about our trip to the Vatican!

Mamertine Prison

My last post mentioned our trip to Rome and why we went there, and etc. In this post I wanted to post a pic of the one site that I wanted to see if I saw nothing else in Rome. And it was actually the first site we went to see. It is the Mamertine Prison.

From what I have read and heard, it is believed that the Apostles Peter and Paul were imprisoned here where I am standing! Tradition from the 5th century holds this to be the place of their imprisonment as it is the only known state prison that existed in Rome in the time of Peter and Paul.

BUT no one knows for sure. Whether it was the exact one or not you can still get a glimpse of the conditions in which they were kept. In the picture is a small spring of water in front of my feet. To the right of where I'm standing is some sort of a stone structure that looked to have some significance to it, but everything there was in Latin and I am no Latin scholar! Then above my head in the picture you can see a hole. This was probably the only source of light that the prisoners had access to unless they were given some sort of a candle, and it was probably how they received their food.

So after being there in this small room/dungeon I could certainly identify with why Paul wanted his cloak! I'm sure it is pretty cold there in the winter and you don't see any luxuries there.

Oh may we never forget the enormous sacrifices made for you and I to have the holy Word of God in our hands today! May we hold it dear, search the depths of its truths, and grow in our love of the One who has given it to us and about Whom it is written, the Lord Jesus!

10 Years with "Lance Romance"

I had the great privilege of spending my 10th wedding anniversary with my incredible bride! Since we were unable to celebrate our anniversary as we would have liked for several years, I talked the talk of telling my wife that for our 10th we would do something special. About a month ago she said, "you aren't planning to do anything for our anniversary are you?" Those words cut to the bone! I figured, "I talked the big talk, now I have to walk the big walk!"

So after speaking with another missionary friend about his travels and checking out prices on the net I decided to take her to Rome! My sister came to visit and watched our kids, and we took off to Rome using our rewards miles from our credit cards!

Despite the picture to the right, we are not Catholics! It just happens to be a picture I liked from our trip and we are standing here at the Vatican of all places! I'll make another post of our thoughts of the Vatican later.

But wow we had a great time as we had 4 days with no schedule and no kids for the first time since our honeymoon (We did not have kids on our honeymoon, but soon thereafter had a busy schedule and had our first child one year later!). For our first anniversary we sat at my in-laws house eating McDonalds as my wife was recovering from a C-section with our first child.

Growing up my name rhymed with many things: "Lance likes to dance with ants in his pants" was a famous one from my elementary school days, and then later my friends would joke around calling me "Lance Romance," though I'm not sure why. Nevertheless, my wife has endured life with me now for 10 years, and she deserved more than a trip to Rome with Lance Romance! But that is what she got and we had a blast!

I praise God for her as a man who massively over married, and I'm thankful for the incredible opportunity to have shared this time with her! Her price is certainly far above rubies and is a woman clearly described in Proverbs 31. No exaggeration. Anyone who knows her knows that it is an accurate description of my Beloved!

Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD.

Roman, one of the seminary students, and I played in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament over the weekend. We had to pick up a guy that we didn't know, because one of our friends wasn't able to play. Nevertheless, we picked up the 2nd place trophy! My wife and Mom told me they thought it wasn't bad for a guy pushing 35, but I wasn't able to hang with the 22 year olds! The team that beat us in the championship game play on a professional Czech basketball team!

Truth Quote of the Week

I was so "moved" by a quote today that I have decided to do something I've never done before, and that is cut and paste a quote from another blog. So this week the "Truth Quote of the Week" will state a sad truth about the man who wants to be my next President.

The quote is from my good friend (old roommate - thankfully old roommate!) :-) Jonathan Moorhead's blog at From the Head of the Moor. Let me just cut and paste his quote from last week:

“He was never my spiritual adviser, he was never my spiritual mentor — he was my pastor.”
Barach Obama on his pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

May it never be said of you.

Packer Takes a Stand

The Christian Post recently posted an article about J.I. Packer's departure from the rank liberal Anglican Church in Canada saying:

J.I. Packer, one of the world's most renowned evangelical theologians, left the Anglican Church of Canada, citing "poisonous liberalism" in the church body.

Packer, 81, who was named one of the 25 most influential evangelicals in the world by Time magazine in 2005, quit the Canadian arm of the global Anglican Communion with 10 other B.C. Anglican clergy last week, he said, according to The Vancouver Sun. They joined the more conservative and orthodox Province of the Southern Cone in South America.

The Oxford-trained theologian said he can no longer serve under Vancouver-area Bishop Michael Ingham, arguing that he "appears heretical." Ingham had sanctioned in 2002 same-sex blessings in the British Columbia diocese of New Westminster, sparking international uproar.

It is refreshing to see someone take a stand and go against the grain these days of compromise. May Packer be the first of many more who will hopefully follow in his footsteps in taking a stand for truth!

Secular Injustice

The sad, unthinkable, horrifying story of the monster in Austria who imprisoned and raped his daughter, and participated in the death of one of their offspring may not have to face real justice. The secular, leave-God-out-of-everything European society has no judicial system that will give this beast the punishment he rightfully deserves. This animal imprisoned his daughter for 24 years underground where she never saw the light of day, and neither did 4 of their 7 children. (click here for article) reports,

"He has already signed a confession but is now refusing to speak to detectives and his lawyer has hinted he could yet deny rape, incest and abduction. Even if he is convicted of the worst offence of rape, he can only be jailed for a maximum of 15 years - nine years less than the sentence he inflicted on his own daughter. His case has sparked a growing clamour for a reform of Europe's lenient penal system and debate over whether harsher U.S. style sentencing guidelines could be used to deter such heinous crimes. 'Fifteen years for destroying human lives is unacceptable,' said Harald Vilimsky, a public safety policy official with Austria's conservative Freedom Party. 'Any punishment that falls a single day short of a life sentence is a mockery of the victims.'"
This is justice in Europe. I can think of two such examples here in the Czech Republic: 1) A lady in the town we used to live in killed her 7 year old daughter and her punishment was 2 years in jail, and 2) a bus driver driving in icy conditions had an accident. No one was killed but several were injured. He got 8 years!

It shows what happens when people abandon Truth. The wisdom of man is foolishness.

Ezekiel 33:17 "Yet your fellow citizens say, 'The way of the Lord is not right,' when it is their own way that is not right. 18 "When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, then he shall die in it. 19 "But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and practices justice and righteousness, he will live by them. 20 "Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not right.' O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways."

Evolutionists Scared of the Truth?

I was actually a little shocked by the reaction to my post a few days ago when I encouraged people to view the movie "Expelled" and post their thoughts on the film. My blog is not the most famous in the world, but as you can see in the comments section it was the most commented on post in the history of Truth Buckler.

So I decided to follow up with another post on the "Intelligent Design" movement, and just threw out a couple of my thoughts on the issue. Today I came across a number of headlines in the Florida Witness all having to do with potential new legislation in Florida to allow teachers freedom to challenge evolutionary conjecture. At least that is how I understand the bill from the few things I read.

The title of one article caught my attention, "Storms Decries Personal Attacks in Evolution Debate." I want to be careful that I don't paint all evolutionists in the same light, but this comes to me as no surprise. From my own personal interaction with evolutionists on issues regarding origins they are often quite fierce in their rhetoric. Now, I must say that unfortunately many Creationists are too. In fact, I saw a video by one Creationist who was very arrogant in his lecture and very snide in his remarks about evolutionists, and I told my wife I'll never listen to him again. I have since learned that he is in jail for tax evasion or something. It's truly a sad story and a horrible testimony for the name of Christ for which this man must one day answer to God.

However, I have noticed that evolutionists are particular sharp in their attacks such as this senator has experienced. Why the threats? Why the personal attacks? Why are evolutionists so afraid of being challenged? What do they have to lose? Are they so allergic to the Truth that they can tolerate no theory or opinion that challenges their position?

I see this approach as a sign of weakness. Time does not allow me to post the many, many problems that evolutionists cannot answer, and for which they must hold to their position by faith alone. I can't count the times I have seen them redefine science, call Creationists unscientific and ignorant of what science is. Sad.

When you can't win in the arena of logic and evidence, then just insult the person's intelligence, tell them that they don't know what science is and attack them personally. How weak.
